Will the Fossil Fuel Lobby Fool the ACC?

Posted on

With more than 300 sunny days per year across most of the state, Arizona is the nation’s sunniest. As such, no state is better suited for solar energy. This is a big reason solar, at less than $25 per megawatt hour (MWh), is Arizona’s cheapest source of energy.

Arizona is also home to the Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station, the nation’s largest nuclear power plant and net generator of electricity. Palo Verde’s clean, carbon-free, power is also among the cheapest nuclear energy in the country, often selling for below $30 per MWh.
