E-car company ElectraMeccanica announces corporate headquarters move to Mesa

Canadian-based electric vehicle company ElectraMeccanica announced it will move its corporate headquarters to Mesa on Monday. The move expands the city’s electric vehicle footprint in the state. ElectraMeccanica in 2021 announced it picked the East Valley city for its first U.S.-based manufacturing plant that could result in the creation of 200 to 500 jobs.

Through the first nine months of this year, registrations for electric vehicles rose 57% compared to the same period last year, according to data from Experian Automotive cited by Automotive News. More than 530,000 new battery-electric vehicles were registered in the U.S. through September.

AZ Corporation Commission approves changes to plan to expand wind power in Arizona

The Arizona Corporation Commission has approved a modification to a plan for new transmission lines. The vote could pave the way for more wind energy in Arizona.  The SunZia Southwest Transmission Project will move wind power from central New Mexico to substations in Pinal County, bringing clean energy to rural communities and California markets.
