Two of Arizona’s largest power companies will soon ask regulators to greenlight a rate hike for customers as they seek to expand their technology and infrastructure to keep up with the state’s rapid growth.
Arizona Public Service Co. and Tucson Electric Power both said in public notices submitted to state regulators last week that they anticipate filing formal rate cases with the Arizona Corporation Commission in June. New rates, if approved, would become effective next year at the earliest.
