Phoenix Commits to 100% Zero-Emission Bus Fleet by 2040

Phoenix City Council voted 8-0 to transition 100% of the city’s bus fleet to zero-emission models by 2040. Phase 1 of this transition plan includes a moratorium on purchasing compressed natural gas (CNG) buses after 2024, thereafter purchasing only low- and zero-emission buses, including hybrid-electric, battery-electric, and fuel-cell-electric buses.

E-car company ElectraMeccanica announces corporate headquarters move to Mesa

Canadian-based electric vehicle company ElectraMeccanica announced it will move its corporate headquarters to Mesa on Monday. The move expands the city’s electric vehicle footprint in the state. ElectraMeccanica in 2021 announced it picked the East Valley city for its first U.S.-based manufacturing plant that could result in the creation of 200 to 500 jobs.

Sion Power announces expansion plan of electric vehicle battery plant in Arizona

Sion Power announced plans to expand its existing manufacturing operations in Tucson, Arizona. The planned expansion site is the 111,400-square-foot building at 6950 South Country Club Road.
